Founded in Sydney in 2008 and wholly owned by its principals, Ryder Capital invests with patience, discipline and conviction across Australian equities and early-stage ventures.
Ryder Capital is an independent investment firm applying a disciplined value approach to Australian equities and early-stage ventures.
Founded in 2008 to manage the capital of its principals, Ryder has since expanded its offering of strategies built on the same disciplined philosophy. The Syndicated Investment Strategy was introduced in 2009 for high-net-worth investors and family offices, followed by the listing of Ryder Capital Limited (ASX: RYD) in 2015 — a listed investment company that today manages approximately A$153 million in net assets. The group later launched the Ryder Innovation Fund in 2018 and the Ryder Capital Small Companies Fund in 2025, each applying Ryder's consistent investment process of identifying fundamental value.
We focus on delivering superior, risk-adjusted returns through disciplined, bottom-up research and a deep understanding of value: we identify quality businesses trading below their intrinsic worth and invest with patience and conviction.
Ryder invests primarily in small and mid-capitalisation Australian companies — businesses often overlooked by the broader market but with meaningful potential for growth and share price appreciation. The principals invest their own capital alongside investors and shareholders.
Ryder Investment Management Pty Ltd is licensed to provide investment advice to wholesale investors only.
For over 15 years, Ryder has delivered exceptional returns for clients and shareholders. Our approach is underpinned by three guiding principles.
We take a long-term view, investing in quality businesses that allow us to see through short-term noise.
Protecting capital matters just as much as compounding it. We invest only where we can measure downside risk to create an asymmetric return profile — no amount of upside can compensate for an unknown amount of downside.
Our principals invest meaningfully alongside clients and shareholders, ensuring our interests are directly aligned. We succeed only when our clients do.
Our investment process is driven by bottom-up fundamental analysis — we independently assess a company's business model, management quality and financial strength to determine our view of intrinsic value, and seek situations where the market has mispriced risk or overlooked an opportunity.
Our portfolios hold a limited number of positions — reflecting our highest-conviction ideas, where we invest only when the odds of success are in our favour rather than relying on diversification to mitigate risk.
