The Fund is a committed-capital ESVCLP, registered with Innovation and Science Australia in 2018. Its $20 million is invested across a small number of early-stage private Australian companies.
The ESVCLP program is designed to encourage investment in early-stage innovation through a tax-efficient fund structure. The Fund targets companies incorporated within the last seven years, with assets of less than $50 million (the majority held in Australia) and average annual turnover below $3 million in the two years prior to investment.
The Fund made four investments across its life, three of which have since been realised.
An Early-Stage Venture Capital Limited Partnership is an Australian Government-backed structure, registered with Innovation and Science Australia, designed to encourage investment in early-stage businesses.
